Trader Joe’s conversations

Retold from a friend…  I was in Trader Joe’s grocery today and overheard some people talking about the current condition of our country.  Another woman nearby also heard their conversation and joined in.  The woman said she was from Syria, and her mother had sent her to this country hoping she would become a Christian, which she did.  She then started sharing her faith and praying with the others.  Soon, many other people in the store joined in.  People are hungry for the truth. Like this woman from Syria, other countries look to us as a Christian nation, either in hatred or in hope, but they are looking.  Yes, we should have love and tolerance for all people and all faiths in our country, but we must not mislead them in the truth at the same time.  For if we do, then we are not truly caring for them as Jesus would. Thank God we live in a country where we can still do things like this, and I hope we never lose sight of that or the fact that we are a Christian nation.  Just look at the history of the Israelites in the Old Testament to see the fate of nations that do not follow God.  We are in no different situation today than 3,000 years ago.

About Life and Heart Matters

I love sharing the stories I see around me every day - of life, family, of the heart and of the spirit. I've written for Guideposts and Angels on Earth magazines, participated in speaking engagements across the U.S and France, and enjoy working with humanitarian efforts. I also like spending time running, swimming and reading, all of which can be done on a beach somewhere!
