Hello! I love to share the stories of life and hope I see around me every day. I’ve published stories with Guideposts and Angels on Earth magazines and write about everyday faith on LifeandHeartMatters.com. After a successful corporate career as an IT Analyst and technology speaker in the U.S. and Europe, and having my most rewarding job of being a mom, I now enjoy teaching the story of God in women’s Bible study and working with various ministries. I also like to spend my time running, swimming and reading, all of which can be done on a beach somewhere!

We each have our own unique story to tell and a beautiful world to explore. I hope you’ll take some time out and enjoy God’s creation and see the connection we have with God. God is in the story of our lives and He will be amazing if we let Him.

Happy are the feet of those who bring good news! Isaiah 52:7

I worked in corporate technology for large global companies for thirty years. I began with the fast-paced success and glamour of the 1980’s, survived the lackluster wanderings of the 1990’s, raised a son in the 2000’s, enjoyed a more reflective time in the 2010’s, and now ready for new adventures in the 2020’s. With the exception of my occasionally misguided and inexperienced youth, I have lived most of my life with one overall, navigating truth – What will truly matter in the end? The accomplishments of my work will long be forgotten, along with those bygone fears that never came about. What will I have wished more of, less of?

Just as important is our journey along the way and the little things that shape us into who we are and what we become. We’re in this for the long haul, all of us together, each creating our own story. In the end, all those pieces will come together into a beautiful painting – the gray days and the bright lights all mixed together. So my second truth is this –  Details matter, the world is not some chaotic accident, and things really do happen for a reason.  I had the chance to travel as a technology speaker with my work. It turned out to be an enjoyable adventure, and something I would have once responded with a resounding “Never in a million years!” I’d rather stick my head in the sand than to face a crowd. Which brings me to my third truth –  We don’t always know what we are truly capable of accomplishing or what may someday come our way. 

God said, “Call to Me and I will tell you great and mighty things.” Jeremiah 33:3

For you were created for good works – works God has chosen for you. Ephesians 2:10 

My heart and my passion go out to those who do not always have a voice, those to whom the world sees as undervalued, yet God sees differently. It is the quiet heroism of people, as I like to call it. I began my work with World Vision from that first time I held my tiny son in my arms. It was a defining moment for me – no child should ever have to go hungry or not know the safety of a mother’s arms. Over the years, that passion has become my steady beacon of hope. Even at my lowest times, I’ve held on to that beacon, knowing that all hope was not lost as long as I did not give up on this one thing. The very essence of our being and of life itself can be found most closely in helping those that are hungry and in need.

Do not withhold good when it is in your power to act. Proverbs 3:27

On a whim several years ago, I entered my first national writing contest. All I knew was that I had a story to tell. As a result, my first story was published. Since then, I’ve had an immense desire to share those stories I see around me, of the human connection between all of us and God, and to write of those things we do not always see. And now we have the world of blogging where we can share our stories and I absolutely love it. I did not realize there was such a great community of writers out there! We’ve got a beautiful world here. Take the time and look at the splendor of it all. God is real and He is in the story of your life.
