What is most important to you?  For those of us who are mothers and fathers, we almost always answer that it is our children, for their safety and happiness. God sees us the same way. What is second most important to you?  Beyond the immediate physical needs that most of us answer in the first question, if we are being truly honest with ourselves, we will most likely answer that we wish to be in good standing with God.  Everyone wants to know who God is and what He thinks about us personally. God wants to know us too. Combine these two answers together, and you […]
We’ve become anti-everything.  It’s the new solution.  Have a problem?… all you need to do is be against something, and you’ll feel better.  But just like the old saying goes, “fight bad with good”, we need to be FOR something.  It’s the only way this life is going to work.  So in my journey of reading through Jesus’ words in the New Testament, I have come to that one statement that has many people fighting over its words today.  It even says the Pharisees took offense over it too, so it is not new to our generation. Here is the entire reference in question and then I’ll give my conclusion of what Jesus is really saying.   […]

I heard the words so clearly in my mind on that sunny day a couple of years ago. “Why do you worry, Sue?  I’ve already taken care of it.”  It caught me so off guard that I stopped right there in the middle of my lunchtime run to catch my breath.  With all the noise and traffic around me, I wondered, Who called me by my name? I had been worrying though.  My company was about to go through more layoffs and change, and even though I would probably be compensated for my many years with the company, I began to worry about the uncertainty.  What […]
