Contrary to what one may think about the land in Mexico, only 10% is arable land. Mexico has a wide range of topography from rainforests to volcanic plateaus and mountains. It is also diverse in people groups from Mestizo (Mexican/Amerindian/Spanish) to Euro-American and Amerindian. The country of Mauritius, not related to Mauritania in Western Africa, is a very tiny island on the other side of Madagascar. All peoples immigrated there from the 18th century onward. Most are of Indian descent, and some Creole, African and European. It is largely a Hindu government and culture with strong Indian ties.
