We could all use a little reminder about now. We’re in the middle of a heat wave during the hottest months of the year. The air is thick and still, bugs are plenty, and water becomes a precious commodity. It can feel like we are trudging along and the finish line for relief, or better days, is still far away.
And yet, there is Jesus, cheering us on to our next milestone. We can’t see the finish line ourselves, but He is there along the way guiding us one mile at a time. “You’re on the right path”, He calls out, “Keep going, don’t look back, the finish line is going to be worth it!” We all need someone we can trust who is cheering for us.
Jesus is for you. He’s the good one, and He wants you to make it. He wants you to get up and try again when you fall. He values your life even more than you do. Your Creator and God of the Universe is for YOU!
“I have engraved you on the palms of my hands,” He declares. — Isaiah 49:16
God is for you.
God says you have worth.
God wants to redeem you.
God offers forgiveness.
God has not given up on YOU.
Every baby born is proof that God has not given up on the human race. He still believes in us, and still believes we are redeemable and have value.
If God is for us, who can be against us? — Romans 8:31
If God is for us, then He will also fight our battles. It is not our job to fight all the spiritual battles around us. That is God’s domain. Let God fight those battles. Our job is to stay in the race and walk our path in faith and trust.
And remember, Jesus is always there cheering you on!
