It has a diverse landscape and mix of peoples – both indigenous and immigrant. 70% of their trade is with the USA. There is freedom of religion but also rapid secularization. Botswana is in the southern part of Africa. The Kalahari Desert covers 80% of the country and is prone to severe droughts. Life expectancy is 53 years. AIDS has devastated the country, having the world’s second-highest prevalence of AIDS after Swaziland. There were many gospel missionaries of the past, but tribal culture remains strong. Pray for the missionaries and churches that are there. They are not forgotten. Pray they may reach the people with the message of love and hope in Jesus Christ, who also died for them.
