Azerbaijan lies between Russia and Iran on the Caspian Sea, and was once part of the Soviet Union.  While Christian work is opposed in the country, the Azeri Church has emerged within the last two decades and is growing.  In 1991, there were 40 Christians.  Now there are around 3,000.  This is exciting news to hear, in contrast to the many other more developed countries where Christianity is in decline.  The gospel is being told and those who are seeking will find.

“Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.  I will be found by you, declares the LORD.”  – the prophet Jeremiah speaking to the Jewish exiles in Jeremiah 29:13
