In the book of Revelation, Jesus reveals himself to the Apostle John as the “Bright Morning Star”.

“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to attest these things to you for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star.” (Revelation 22:16)

Jesus is not just one of many stars, but the bright morning star, the one that outshines all the others.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12).

Jesus is the true light that brings life. He is the pre-existent light, before all other light.

From the early Old Testament writings, there is a prophesy of a star: A star will come from Jacob, and a scepter will arise from Israel.” (Numbers 24:17)

As the morning star and Creator, Jesus announces the beginning of each new day. He gives us new life.

And as the brightest star, He gives us a reference point for our lives.
