Lesotho is a small country at the southern tip of African continent, surrounded by South Africa.  Half of the population lives below the poverty line, unemployment is as high as 45%, and AIDS has had a devastating effect.  The mountainous population is among the poorest and most vulnerable, and have little contact with the gospel or churches.  Mission groups have recently committed to building evangelical churches in the region.  Pray for these churches and the workers that God sends.
Kenya has only been independent from Britain since 1963.  Like many countries who have gained their independence in the last 50 years, they struggle with corruption, political instability, and crime.  The population is majority Christian Protestant, and it remains a regional hub for Christian missions and education.  The crisis is with their youth.  The majority of the population are children with over 100,000 street children living in slums, while around 500 adults still pass away every day due to AIDS. Guinea is located on Africa’s west coast.  The country has huge mineral deposits, fertil and plentiful land and water, but an inept and corrupt government has reduce it to poverty.  It was a French colony until 1958, then led by a Marxist-Muslim government that virtually destroyed it, and finally has become more democratic with the elections in 2010. Ghana is on the south-western coast of the Gulf of Guinea in Africa.  79% of the population earns less than $2 per day.  Yet, Ghana enjoys a rich Christian tradition.  With over 100 ethnic groups, there were only 5 Bible translations available in 1965.  Since then, the majority of Ghanaians have at least a New Testament translation and there is work in progress on every language in Ghana!  Hundreds of churches have been planted as a result of the newly translated scriptures in their languages.
