Monaco is the second smallest state in the world, with an area of 2 sq km. Used as a byword for a very high standard of living, most revenue comes from tourism, gambling, and a tax haven. Micronesia is a UN Trust Territory that is overseen by the United States. It is a sub-region of Oceania (Australian continent) composed of thousands of small islands in the western Pacific Ocean. There are four main states: Marshall Islands, Northern Marianas, Palau, and Moldova. These are isolated islands where their only source of income is tourism and agriculture, and therefore they rely heavily on US aid. Contrary to what one may think about the land in Mexico, only 10% is arable land. Mexico has a wide range of topography from rainforests to volcanic plateaus and mountains. It is also diverse in people groups from Mestizo (Mexican/Amerindian/Spanish) to Euro-American and Amerindian. The once-sophisticated Aztec Empire was destroyed by the Spanish and smallpox in the early 16th century. Much of its northern territories were lost to the US in the 19th century.
