Guatemala is located between southern Mexico and Honduras.  Just a few days ago, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook off the coast of Guatemala after the catastrophic devastation of the Fuego volcano erupted, the most active volcano in Central America, killing 38 people and leaving many others missing.  In addition to the country being susceptible to earthquakes, it is a major transshipment point for the drug trade, and 70% of the cocaine bound for the US goes through Guatemala.  Murder and violence are common there, and they have the highest murder rate in Latin America. Most of the people live below […]
French Guiana is a sparsely inhabited jungle in northeast South America.  They have one of the most diverse flora and fauna with over 400,000 species.  The country is heavily subsidized by France, and their main export is gold.  Unemployment is 20%.  They have many challenges from people trafficking, illegal trade, and eroding moral standards.  Many people have been responsive to the increasing evangelicals in the area, especially Haitians, Amerindian tribes and Brazilians.  The least reached people include French Guianese Creole youth, Maroon tribes who live in the interior, and the French and European communities of which few are Christian. Pray […]

Pray for the missionaries, church, and Christians who are there, that they […]
The people of Ecuador are in two people groups – about half are Spanish and the other half Amerindian.  They are the world’s largest exporter of bananas.  Ecuador has had an unstable government for a very long time, and are starting to align more with the leftist governments in other parts of South America.  The culture is strongly shaped by Catholicism, and there have been some intimidation and violence against other evangelical churches.  Pray for unity among the denominations and an increase in the spiritual life of all. There has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or locality […]
